This calculator works out the Charging and/or DisCharging Current that you should set in order to reach the desired increase/decrease in system % SOC over the specified period. For charging this would be the cheap rate tariff period, for discharging it would be the length of the Octopus 'Savings Sessions' or equivalent.
When opened for the first time a set of parameters based on a 10kWh Puredrive Purestorage system are displayed. These should be changed to reflect your own system and, once changed, will then default to those values each time the app is run.
Once the correct figures have been stored, just slide the slidebar button until the desired % SOC increase/decrease is reached. As you slide the slide bar the % SOC, total kWs and required battery amps will displayed. When satisfied with the results all that then needs to be done is to set the Charging/DisCharging Current using the Soliscloud app.
Average Battery Voltage - Is the average battery voltage during a charging session. If this is not known a suitable value can be found by going to 'Device' ==> 'Inverter' in the SolisCloud app and selecting 'Battery Voltage' in the Battery section of Parameters.
Total Capacity - Is the total kWh capacity of your system.
Cheap Rate Charging Hours - Is the total time in hours and minutes of the cheap rate tariff. The actual hours of the cheap rate time should be set in the Inverter settings.
DisCharge Hours - Is the total time in hours and minutes of the 'Savings Sessions' period. The actual hours need to be set in the Inverter settings.
Desired % SOC Increase/Decrease - Is the increase/decrease in % SOC that you wish to charge/discharge your batteries to.
Finally, clicking on the 'Notes' button again will hide these notes.
